How is treating a sports injury different?

To begin with there is very little difference between an injury in someone who was walking the dog to someone with the same injury from playing sport. The real difference comes from what you are trying to get back to. To get you back and make sure there is no reoccurrence the rehabilitation phase must be more detailed and more specific to your sport than a general injury.

Diagnosis

As will all injuries a diagnosis of what has happened is important. With sports injuries it is also important to ensure that there has been no associated injuries to surrounding areas because of the forces involved. You will also undoubtedly want to know how long before you can get back to doing the sport that you love.

Treatment

Hands on treatment can often reduce pain and allow more pain free daily activities. It is important to do this alongside rehabilitation which gets to the root cause of the problem.

Rehabilitation

In a sporting injury this is the most crucial part. We must ensure that you have the strength, flexibility, movement, and resilience specific to your sport. Only then will you be able to return with confidence, at the level you were before and reduce the risk of the injury happening again.

What Our Clients Say

I'm a retired professional. Michael came weekly to help me through recovery from total knee replacement surgery done on NHS after many years of waiting. I can honestly say that without his skilful advice, gradually building exercise regime and hands-on therapy, that experience would have been awful. Instead, I felt I had a professional friend helping and guiding me through the months it took to regain mobility. I'm awaiting surgery on the other knee and will certainly be calling upon Michael again to assist my recovery. Well worth the expense.

Knowledgable, caring and such a nice guys too! I was so lucky to find Michael in a busy time of my life where I needed to get to the bottom of an ongoing injury that was affecting my treasured tennis and exercise time. Thank you for everything Michael

I had a full hip replacement in Feb 22 and Michael helped me rehab to the point that I can now play squash again fully. He also sorted out severe pains in my shoulders which was affecting me on a daily basis. I would highly recommend him, he's a great guy and everything you would want from your physio.

Michael has provided successful treatment for me in respect of two separate issues and I have no hesitation in recommending his services. I will certainly be in touch if I need attention in future.
