Meet our founder

Michael’s vision for Ready for Life Physio is to grow a team of highly skilled physiotherapists and allied health practitioners. The team will eventually include sport massage therapists, strength and conditioning specialists and physios with special interests such as paediatrics and women’s health.

Michael Nicol

Founder and Senior Physiotherapist

Michael originally trained in sport rehabilitation at St Mary’s University in London before going on to obtain a Masters in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Nottingham University. During his career Michael has worked in professional sports such as tennis, rugby, football, and rowing. He spent 7 years lecturing at university, progressing to a role of senior lecturer. He also taught physio courses in movement screening for a company called Performance Matrix throughout Europe.

As well as running Ready for Life Physio Michael is a director of currently runs Physio Business Growth, an international business consultancy company with clients in 7 countries.

Away from work Michael has three children and enjoys running, golf and tennis, as well as travelling and visiting as many restaurants as possible with his wife Louise.

Richard Morford

Senior Physiotherapist

Richard has over 20 years experience working in the musculoskeletal (MSK) field, qualifying from the University of East London in 2002. He has worked at some of the major London trauma and orthopaedic hospitals and brought this knowledge and experience to East Anglia.

Richard has worked throughout the region establishing close links with surgeons, GP’s, other physiotherapists and employers of all sizes and working closely with them to support patients back to achieving their goals. He specialises in rehabilitation in a number of fields including pre and post operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, occupational health, sports injuries and musculoskeletal disorders

He is heavily involved with how Physiotherapy and MSK services are developed in the region and has set the standard for Physiotherapists going back into GP surgeries and offering early access to physio care and input. He is a regular teacher at UEA, NNUH and JPUH to doctors, physios and nursing colleagues sharing his knowledge and experience.

Richard still plays hockey at a regional level when he has time but spends more time cheering on his daughters in whatever sporting activity they are doing!!
