Physiotherapy assessment

A physiotherapy assessment is typically the first step for most problems. From this session you can expect to leave with:
  • An understanding of what is causing your pain/problem.
  • Initial advice on how to start the recovery process.
  • Exercises to help you improve (where appropriate).
  • A plan of how you are going to achieve the goals that you
    want to achieve.

Cost – £70

Duration – 60 mins

This session will involve 4 key parts:
  • A conversation about your medical history, what has been happening recently and the symptoms you are experiencing.
  • We will then perform some movement tests and some structural tests to try and identify the cause(s) of the problem.
  • You will then get an explanation of the problem, the solution and the timescales involved.
  • Where time allows, you will receive some initial treatment, or at least some advice on how to manage the problem until the next session.

Physiotherapy treatment

The treatment you receive will vary significantly depending on the type of condition you have. The overall approach of Ready for Life Physio, is to combine hands on treatment with exercise-based rehabilitation.

The aim is to use techniques that will speed up the recovery process, reduce tension and stiffness and build improved strength and flexibility.

One of the most important things to consider, is that many people will have been given exercises that have not resolved the problem. The key is to do not just any exercise, instead the right exercise, in the right way, at the right time. We will ensure that you are doing this.

Cost – £55

Duration – 30 mins

Rehabilitation sessions

The difference between rehabilitation sessions and a physiotherapy treatment, is typically that hands on treatment is not required and the aim is supervised rehabilitation, rather than just prescribing exercise.

Examples of when this could be beneficial would be; pre/post-surgery, complex injury and return to sport.

Sessions will be specific to your goal and injury/problem, and will be similar in nature to a personal training session. You will also receive homework to do between sessions.

Cost – £75

Duration – 60 mins

Movement screening

A movement screen is an analysis of how your body moves including strength, flexibility, and stability. It is a tool often used by elite athletes and sports teams, to reduce the likelihood of injury.

A movement screen will identify specific areas that can be improved through physical training, to improve the resilience of your body. This will allow you to train harder and enjoy the things you want to do, in life and in sport.

This is not only for athletes and can be applicable to anyone who has had problems with multiple injuries, or who wants to reduce the risk of future injury.

This session includes a movement analysis including; the use of video, analysis of findings and a comprehensive training/exercise plan to address the findings.

“Prevention is better than cure”

Cost – £95

Duration – 90 mins

Sport massage

A sports massage manipulates the layers of soft tissue throughout your body – easing muscle pain, aiding recovery, and helping to prevent future injuries or discomfort.

Although the name would make you believe a sports massage is exclusively for the kind of sports injuries that athletes pick up, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Sports and deep tissue massage therapy offers relief from all the stresses and strains we put our bodies through.

As well as exercise, those stresses include sitting at a desk all day, spending too much time on your feet, carrying a bag every day, sleeping awkwardly and much more.
At Ready for Life Physio, we will work quickly and precisely to reduce muscle soreness to transform the way you feel.
